IBEW Joint Bargaining Committee Contract Negotiation Progress

As you know the five (5) Local Unions have been in contract negotiations with Xcel Energy.  Our plan is to update the membership as we go through this process.

At this time the Company is proposing a major cost shift in the medical plan.  The Company is proposing a 75% - 25% total cost share.  The Company's proposal is to achieve this through all or any combination of premiums, eliminations of the Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions and plan design changes.

Xcel Energy also has proposals to make major reduction in the existing pension plans by implementing the Pension Protection Act and the elimination of future Retirement Spending Account (RSA) contributions.  It is also their intention to establish a new defined contribution pension plan for new hires.

Further updates to follow.
